I view the org as the drunk sister that got custody after my REAL mother died, and i doubt anybody ever runs back to their drunken step mother..

If things turn ugly for the Western world, will you run back to "Mother"?
by True North inwho knows what will come in the years ahead from terrorism, global warming, conflict over natural resources, proliferation of wmd, et al.?
it's not hard to imagine truly horrific things happening.
i don't think it's likely, but perhaps one day the major powers might even respond to religion-related terrorism by joining together to restrain or control religion under the banner of the u.n.. such events certainly could trigger a response from the fears/phobias that ex-jws may carry around with them due to years of wt indoctrination -- however much repressed these are at most times.

I make up lyrics to the songs too lol.

this is one of the definitions for dialect that i found at dictionary.com.
i think ebonics fits the profile of this definition.

I come from a background of poor blacks pretty much. My mom and my grandma and my grandma's mom all lived in fifth ward texas, a place where if you talked any way other than "the way" your going to be isolated, nobodies going to talk to you at all. So I had to pick up on that. I was mostly in schools where people usually talk in a way you might see on TRL most the time. Then I had a major culture shock and I had to bring my "roots" in to not be isolated. I see plenty of people that don't talk the talk or don't walk the walk and they live high school life hellishly.
A person called me fake since I told them that I use more than one dialect when I'm talking in private, depending who I am around. I can talk very good "Standard English" Vernacular, however, it just seems pointless at times. When I'm showing respect to teachers I try not to sound too professional cause I mean I gotta be with this teacher for a year I don't want to have a business relationship, would rather have a friend relationship. So I speak in a kind of mix between total ebonics and total proper english. I dunno you gotta switch it up sometimes. Alot of times people feel threatened cause they may speak in a less proper way socially and your talking like your on a job interview and that turns people off sometimes. That could have been a best friend, but you drove em off cause you aren't umm.. "In" with the way to talk. So I dunno I say learn as much as you can and hang yourself around all types of people. Even professional people at times talk in their own kind of way. I like those IBM commercials, they talk in business slang alot of times.
I usually surround myself with all kinds of different dialects. You can't understand life if you hang around the rich crowd all day right?

jWs and creativity
by boy@crossroads inits seems to me over the years as a dub i have met some very creative (albeit eccentric) folks in the org.
whats your thoughts on this?
do you think that the structure of the jws makes people more creative?

I've been in the org for all my life and still in it. But I dunno... I may have broke out of the shell cause I was creative even when I was 6. Lol my parents pulled the good o' "If you can sit and draw that much you can do the same in the field" Im like whatever, <keeps on drawing and writing>. I have seen another creative person, not in any form that I have seen really just by the way she thinks and the way she does different things and how she jokes around. Gotta be creative for some of the stuff she does.
Ya now that I'm thinking about it I haven't seen one creative person yet in the org... Except my brother who is pretty out there and thinks outside the box alot of times. That's why he is DFed lol still goin through some stuff though. So ya creativity in the org a big no no. I see the org creating more weird people though... with weird things about them that could be used to make the world a much better place but those weirdness things are focused in the field. What a waste. Out of the possible 1000 people my parents talked to in the field only one became a witness. What crap.
I'm going on a record lol, I've been sick and stuff and just plain faking it and I haven't been out in field in like 7 months. Good thing I ain't no publisher, I'm waiting that out as long as possible.

Secret handshakes and greetings...
by FMZ inwell, this is more about the various things that people do with their "homies".
that weird thing where it starts out like a handshake, but then the hand comes around and grasps the thumb, then opens flat, so your palms are against each other, then they slide off.
(hard to describe...lol) someone did this to me once, and i had no idea what was going on, he had to teach me it.. you see, i was just coming in to work, as the guy before me was leaving... he told me to enjoy my trip to dallas etc... then raised his arm, and bunched up his fist, and then apparently stared at my shoulder... it looked like he wanted to give me a buddy-shoulder-jab, but wasnt close enough, so i stepped towards him.

I don't know but I think he was trying to give you the International Interration Manly Affection symbol. IIMA. Many people get this wrong many times. First you have to grab your right foot with your left hand then spin around 3 times. Next you have to head butt him as hard as you can and when he is doing the commemorative "Fading backwards trying to get his sight back" You kick him in his knee and you kiss him on his forehead. Well-known head-check.
Don't leave the homie hanging next time. It's worse than M U R D E R!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think most christians believe in forgetting everything and becoming new in heaven, new earth. Weird thing is God is the originator of evil, so unless he forgets stuff or he is destroyed it can't really be no evil. Even though if he is destroyed there will be nothing. So I dunno... I don't want to forget all the things that happened here since that's what made me me.

Some people become addicted to plastic surgery. Alot of people just view themselves as never being good enough. Actually I think over have come in for a 3rd operation even when their first one and the second one were done and finished with. Dunno... plastic surgery just kind of tells yourself that your not good enough now, boobs will make you into a good person. No confidence in yourself from the beginning but People do change after they change something about themselves. Seen people who have changed and people who never change.
I'd say if all else fails, go under the knife.

What Would a JW Discussion Forum Accepted By The Society Really Be Like?
by minimus insuppose for a minute that the society allowed certain pro-jw sites to exist as long as they were heavily moderated by "mature ones".
what would the site be like?
what types of dialogue would exist?
